About Pam Amato
Personal profile:
Born in San Francisco, arrived in Nevada County in 1976. My husband Bob (a logger, at the time) and I purchased our first home in 1978. We lived “off the grid” in our small cabin during the “back to the land” movement. We went to Grass Valley/Nevada City for banking, laundry and obtaining supplies twice each month. Our sons, Dustin and Joel (6th generation descendants of John A. Sutter were born in the Gold Country) in 1981 and 1983. They learned to fish, swim, read and participate in local community activities on the San Juan Ridge. They both graduated from Nevada Union High School and California State University, Chico. Today, Bob and I live with conventional electricity on our 16 acres outside North San Juan. Our sons pursue their careers in Business and Engineering.
Career profile:
In spring 1979, I began selling real estate at Ridge Realty in North San Juan. By 1985, I took a break and joined a local title company in Nevada City, working as an escrow secretary. In fall of 1987, ready to broaden my scope of the real estate market, I joined the professionals at Coldwell Banker Grass Roots Realty in Grass Valley.
The Coldwell Banker Grass Roots team provided an environment to enhance my skills as a professional full time sales associate. In 1994, Coldwell Banker Grass Roots honored me as the first female agent in the company to receive the “Agent of the Year” community service award. In 1997, I earned my Real Estate Broker license. In 1999,and became a charter member of the Master’s Club in Nevada County. In 2006, I obtained the Certified Residential Specialist designation. In 2007, I obtained my Senior Real Estate Specialist Designation. Today, I continue to seek live and webinar education while honing my skills for the success of buyer and seller clients.
In 2012, I celebrated 25 years of Excellence with Coldwell Banker Grass Roots with the tag line “an Honest Approach to Real Estate”. As a San Francisco born, California native I am pleased to be associated with a company that was founded more than 100 years ago on the principles of honesty, integrity and service. This company is my family as well as a solid professional environment for growth.
