Testimonial
"Pam is a terrific real estate agent who truly listens to her clients and cares about their interests. When there are any concerns, she finds creative solutions that work for both sides. Plus she is a down-to-earth person who is easy to work with, who keeps her clients well informed, and most importantly is always direct and honest in her approach. I've bought and sold several homes over the years with diverse agents and consider Pam to be the best."

Pam Amato has been my friend and closest business associate for some 15 years. I have provided many of her clients with financing and in the process have observed and enjoyed Pam’s adept handling of the purchase transaction. Pam knows how to listen and has a well honed ability to hear what the customer’s wants and needs are. She is knowledgeable in all facets of the transaction and very interactive with all involved, right from the start. Pam is highly skilled at property valuation, marketing, contract negotiation and customer service. She is honest, communicative, tenacious and involved. She is also kind, considerate, loyal and a very fine friend.

Personal profile:
Born in San Francisco, then arrived in Nevada County in l976. My husband Bob (a logger, at the time) and I purchased our first home in 1978 in Malakoff Estates off Cruzon Grade. We lived “off the grid” in our small cabin during the “back to the land” movement. We went to Grass Valley/Nevada City for banking, laundry and obtaining supplies twice each month. Our sons, Dustin and Joel (6th generation descendants of John A. Sutter were born in the Gold Country) in 1981 and l983. They learned to fish, swim, read and participate in local community activities on the San Juan Ridge. Dustin graduated Chico State University with 2 Bachelor degrees in Business and Spanish. Joel also graduated from CSU Chico with 4 Bachelor of Science degrees in Engineering and Physics with high honors. Today, Bob and I live with conventional electricity on our 16 acres outside North San Juan. We enjoy time with 3 goats, 3 cats and our meadow grazing longhorn cow “Buttercup”.
Career profile:
In spring l979, I began selling real estate at Ridge Realty in North San Juan. By l985, I took a break and joined a local title company in Nevada City, working as an escrow secretary. In fall of 1987, ready to broaden my scope of the real estate market, I joined the professionals at Coldwell Banker Grass Roots Realty in Grass Valley.
The Coldwell Banker Grass Roots team provided an environment to enhance my skills as a professional full time sales associate. In 1994, Coldwell Banker Grass Roots honored me as the first female agent in the company to receive the Charles Brock “Agent of the Year” community service award. In 1997, I earned my Real Estate Broker license. In 1999, I became a charter member of the Master’s Club in Nevada County. In 2006, I obtained the Certified Residential Specialist designation.
In 2007, I obtained my Senior Real Estate Specialist Designation. I believe in continuing education and honing my skills for the success of buyer and seller clients. In 2007, I celebrated 20 years of Excellence with Coldwell Banker Grass Roots with the tag line “an Honest Approach to Real Estate”. As a San Francisco born, California native I am pleased to be associated with a company that was founded 100 years ago on the principles of honesty, integrity and service. This company is my family as well as a solid professional environment for growth.
About where I love and live
The San Juan Ridge is a diverse community with some families having lived here for many generations, “back to the land” folks (arriving as I did in the late 60’s and 70’s), newcomers and environment minded looking for the quiet life. Each joined by the thread of being in nature, away from the traffic and busyness of city life. With Nevada City, Grass Valley, Penn Valley, Camptonville and Downieville other nearby towns of mining history past, the Sierra Foothills are the best in the west.
Featured places to visit near the San Juan Ridge include: The Yuba River(all forks including the So.Yuba trail and Bridgeport, middle fork at Oregon Creek and north fork near Indian Outpost and Downieville, Bullards Bar Reservoir, The North Columbia Cultural Center, The Ananda Community, Double Oaks Vineyard and Winery, Malakoff Diggins and Milanos Inn.. Look for updates as I increase this photo gallery to include other areas of Nevada County as well.
